Though the announcement of the shake-up came as a shock, the gruelling touring schedule was known to have taken its toll.
The band’s oldest member, Jeff Fatt, 58, the Purple Wiggle, and Cook, 51, had both reportedly been considering retiring for some time.
"We want to thank all our Wiggly fans - it’s been a great ride in our big red car.
We are really looking forward to saying farewell and having one last dance with everyone during the tour," said Fatt.

Under a major shake-up announced yesterday, the band, whose fan base was aged four to seven, revealed it will be joined by its first woman, Emma Watkins, 22, and that the Blue Wiggle, Anthony Field, will remain as the only founding member.
The yellow, red and purple uniforms will be handed to Miss Watkins and two other members handpicked by the group, Lachlan Gillespie and Simon Pryce.
