There are 'missing teen' stories in the news from time to time but those always end with 'missing teen found safe' so I didn't pay much attention, also she had pushed her dresser against her bedroom door and gone out the window so it was more 'runaway teen.' Shocking now.The fact that it was a clean-cut VT student and not some middle aged pedo adds another layer to it.She had been on several "internet teen dating sites" apparently (I'm guessing that's a euphemistic LE term for what they really were.) That's the scariest part for me.
What drives people to kill knowing the consequences and given the fact that with modern technology, it's much harder to get away with it?
This kid apparently had a good life, and he ruined it for what?
: diddling a girl and the pleasure of taking her life.
Now he'll spend most or all of his life in prison in miserable conditions and being used as a plaything for at least a few years by his mates.
One is better off becoming a politician or other official and kill legally.
Reminds me of what would've been the season four storyline of 'The Following' if it hadn't been cancelled.Ryan (Kevin Bacon) tracks down an organized group of society type folks who are hosting murder parties. the one woman who 'names names' (which Ryan would've tracked down and killed himself in season four) says something to the affect of 'there are serial killers and disturbed people of all classes in society. How do you think the well to do are handling 'these habits' ? The cops said today that they "knew each other" before this happened. The kid is a freshman at VT so he's been there for 5 months. How & why did he meet & get involved w/a 13-year old girl? And it's not like he snatched her off the street, she barricaded her bedroom door shut & climbed out the window. What little is known is this: Nicole Lovell, a pudgy, unprepossessing 13 year old girl with serious medical problems sneaked out of her parent's house by pushing a dresser against her bedroom door and climbing out a window. Now I just heard they're searching a pond on the VT campus and plan to be there for several days. She'd been spending time on internet dating sites and her Facebook page said she was a "UVa student." Evidently Lovell and Eisenhower met on the internet. He probably told her he wanted to meet her (or maybe he told her he wanted to be her boyfriend) and so she sneaked out for a clandestine meeting with her internet beau. Did he want to meet for the express purpose of having sex with her and killing her?
